Stourport Manor Hotel, Valentine's Night, 1926.
The air inside "The Red Velvet Club" was thick—a heady, dangerous cocktail of cheap cigarette smoke, illicit gin, and the desperate, pulsing rhythm of forbidden jazz. Outside, February wind howled across the Worcestershire countryside, shaking the old manor’s windows, but inside this hidden basement, it was perpetually warm, humid, and exhilaratingly illegal.
Tonight, Valentine’s Day, the club is packed. Local industrialists, nervous debutantes, and men who looked like they knew too much about the underside of Stourport rubbed shoulders, seeking pleasure in the shadow of illicit jazz clubs.
On the small, crimson-draped stage, Lila Dubois, the French-born Nightingale, swayed beneath a single spotlight. Her voice, a smoky contralto, cuts through the noise, singing a ballad about lost love and broken promises. Her eyes, however, scanned the room, not for applause, but for someone—or perhaps something—that wasn't there.
The evening will not go to plan and you will need to bring your inner Holmes or Poirot as beneath the glamour, Lila holds a secret that is heavier than any gilded microphone.

In 1899 Victoria Bellamy hanged herself in the attic of the Mnor house
Her story is one that was abundant in those days. She was used by the son of Sir Michael Howard, Julian. He promised her the world, but when he found out she was having his baby he left her, penniless and without help, She was a housemaid in the Manor. Sir Michael and Lady Howard helped her as much as possible, but she could not cope with the shame of it.
Victoria hung herself on 7th November 1899.
Sir George Dowling has arranged a psychic evening to see if the hauntings are true.

THE CANVAS CUTTERS CURSE A 1920'S WHODUNNIT? Saturday 11th April 2026
The Lion & Salmon Gallery, a converted medieval hall near the Welsh Bridge in Shrewsbury. On the evening of April 11th, 1925. An exclusive viewing of a newly acquired, priceless Italian Renaissance portrait.
Mr. Alistair Croft, a sharp-tongued and influential London art critic, is found dead in the gallery's private office. He was poisoned—cyanide in his champagne flute. The portrait, the star of the evening, has a crude, amateur slash mark across the canvas.
Is this an act of Revenge? Or an act of protection of a secret about the authenticity of the painting? Croft was about to expose the forgery to the world, ruining the gallery owner and potentially sending one of the others to prison.
Can you follow the clues and help Inspector Howard find the culprit?
